Dance or Cry- Attitude

Dance or Cry- Attitude makes all the difference

They had already lost one game in the playoffs. He was 11 years old and just like every other kid there, he wanted to win the Little League World Series. But they were getting whooped bad! It was only the 4th ending and the other team was beating them by 20 points. This defeat would take them out of the finals.

Vaughn Bergen on Team Aruba was preparing to bat, but his excitement was swallowed with the knowledge that there was no way they could win. Tears streamed down his face and most of the other players were crying too!

His dad, Luigi Bergen, one of his coaches, gave him some game changing advice  “You’re coming up [to bat] here. Do you want to do it crying or do you want to do it happily?”

And you can see in the footage below, he took his father’s advice and began  to  dance. It didn’t win him the game, but he moved from total defeat to enjoy the game.

How ’bout you? I don’t know what you’re going through, but while you can’t choose your cirumstances you can choose your attitude. You can do it crying or you can do it happily! Only you can make that choice.

For me, thank you Mr. Bergen. I needed that! Today, I will choose to do it happily because I know God is with me and that He causes me to always triumph, no matter what I’m going through!

Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” That’s why I dance, Vaughn!
