The Best Gift to Re-gift

Have you ever received a gift that really shocked you and not in a good way either. I mean one so bad you thought “What were they thinking?” or “What in the world is this?” All you could say was, “You shouldn’t have. Really! You shouldn’t have!” Or if you’re from the South, like me, you might say “Awe! Bless your heart!”

Surprised?

I’m talking about things worse than the singing fish (I love that rubber big mouth Bass) or the head that grows green hair. Perhaps it’s a size 20 sweater when you wear a size 8. (Honestly, it’s never happened to me. I’ve loved all mine. But I think I may have given a few that fall into that category)

Re-Gift

Unusual gifts make great gifts for passing around at the family white elephant Christmas party or for re-gifting. Sometimes we re-gift, or give it to someone else, hoping it fits the personality of the person we’re giving it to better than it did our own or because you know they can use it.

Important!

The key to successful re-gifting is remembering where it came from, so you don’t give it back to the person you received it from. No, that would not be good.

Have you ever re-gifted?

While most gifts are given to be enjoyed, not re-gifted, God’s wonderful gift–Christ Jesus was given with the intent that it be re-gifted. God’s love and the good news that the angel announced that a Savior was born is not for hording, it’s for giving away. The more your share God’s gift the more you enjoy its benefits personally. Let me encourage you to re-gift this Christmas by giving the message of God’s love to someone in your world.

God let me see people through your eyes. Let me love them with your love. Cause me to give unselfishly and to boldly and compassionately share what I’ve been given. Help me to give the good news of Christ Jesus to people around me. This Christmas make me a bona fide re-gifter.
